You will discover the most amazing places of Myanmar such as: Yangon and its golden Shwedagon Paya Pagoda, Bagan with a multitude of ancient temples, the last royal city (Mandalay), and the Inle Lake. Our glimpse tour around Myanmar will bring you a view through its history, beauty, culture and local life.

  • Day 01: Welcome to Yangon, Myanmar

    You'll be met on arrival at Yangon International Airport and transferred to hotel. Time allowing, we take an orientation tour and a chance to acclimatize ourselves. 

     

  • Day 02: Yangon (B)

    Today we tour the former capitol of Myanmar. Start from the Sule pagoda, the Mahabandoola Park, the colonial courthouse and the city hall in the very centre. Hop on a rickshaw and drive around the colonial area with a stop to enjoy Burmese tea. Continue along the famous Strand Road and visit the bustling Yangon harbor. In the afternoon, we’ll visit the huge reclining Buddha image at Chauk Htat Gyi, and especially the Shwedagon Pagoda with its glistening stupas covered with 60 tons of pure gold. The pagoda is regarded as holiest monument of Myanmar and a wonder of the world. We’ll also explore the rich and colorful market Bogyoke Aung San (formerly Scott’s) to learn about daily life and hunt for souvenirs.

     

  • Day 03: Yangon – Bagan (B)

    Transfer to Yangon airport for a morning flight to the ancient city of Bagan in upper Myanmar. We’ll tour a the city’s most important pagodas and temples such as Shwezigon, Ku Byauk Gyi, Khay Min Ga, Ananda, the Mon-styled Manuha, Nanbaya, Gu Byaukgyi, the city’s central market and a lacquer ware village in Myinkaba. Conclude the day at a vantage tower, watching the sun set into the land of gods.  

     

  • Day 04: Bagan - Mandalay (B)

    Transfer to the airport for a morning flight to Mandalay. Proceed overland to Amarapura to visit the 200-year-old U Bein teak bridge; Mahagandayon monastery - home to over one thousand monks; Bagaya Monastery with a superb collection of Buddha statues. Afternoon we contemplate the spectacular Buddha image covered in thick layers of gold leaves at the Mahamuni pagoda, Shwe Inbin monastery, the Golden Palace Monastery of Shwe Nan Daw Kyaung – an example of a traditional wooden building, Kuthodaw pagoda -known for the huge book of 729 marble slabs engraved with Buddhist scriptures.

     

  • Day 05: Mandalay - Heho - Inle Lake (B)

    This morning we take a flight to Heho and then proceed 25 km by road to Inle Lake, home to Intha people. This ethnic group mostly inhabits the lakeshores and the waters. We’ll have a boat trip to see leg-rowers, floating gardens, stilt houses. We also visit Phaungdawoo pagoda, the Jumping Cat Monastery of Nga Phe Kyaung, and the weaving village of Inpawkhon. 

     

  • Day 06: Inle Lake - Heho - Yangon (B)

    We travel by boat to middle of the lake then continue along a small canal to the village of In Dein. After a walk around the village, we take the covered stairway to the beautiful Alaung Sitthou where ancient stupas are partly covered by vegetation. Alaung Sitthou offers a magnificent view over the lake. Early afternoon we transfer to Heho Airport for a flight to Yangon. 

     

  • Day 07: Yangon - Departure (B)

    Free till transfer to Yangon International Airport for departure.
